Here is another wedding tile that I have been doing.

Same idea just a different look.

The established 2011 goes over the top of the WINTERS.

I have also done 'a journey to forever', 'families are forever' and the established and the date.

Anything really can go over just pick one color for the letter and last name and one color for the phrase that goes over it.

This is something new I am trying.

It is more subway art.

I needed a board to go on top of my boys book shelf in their room I have been redecorating this week. I thought this was just right and had all the things they need to think about and remember. I always remember things when I think of a song.

It makes you sing it in your head.

I hope they like it as much as I do,

and I hope I get it all done soon.

Redecorate a room and call me for some vinyl.

Laundry

I just got an order placed to make this for a tile.

How cute is that?
I thought it was a fun saying.
So true some days.
It would be so cute up in a laundry room.
Maybe on the wall or on some wood.
Even a fun frame or on the back of the door.
Most laundry rooms seem to be lacking in decor
(at least mine always does!).
This would be fun!!

YW/YM Theme 2011

Every year I get a request to do a board or some kind of vinyl with the young women and young men theme for the year.
One of the wards in our stake is doing this on a tile for each of their young women at New Beginnings this month.

I love the look of the 'subway art' that has been so popular.
This is printed for a 13x13 inch tile.
My machine only prints to 22 inches,
so I made each print out 11"x12 1/2".
That will give then some room on the side to put a ribbon or some fun accent at the side.
I think it is a great idea and I love that the theme for the year is the 13th article of faith.
The price for the vinyl is $6 for this same size or smaller.
I can't, however go as small as the 6x6 inch tile size...too many words too small a space.

Hi all!
I am still alive, just not really up and running fully yet.
I know it is getting that time of year...yikes! can you believe that? People are already thinking Christmas!! Good for you if you are...scary thought!
I am able to do vinyl.
(I can't live without vinyl anymore, what did I do before I had my machine?)
The wood and metal will be sometime before I can get to them.
I have moved and am waiting on our addition to be done before I can get all my 'stuff' out of storage.
If you are in need of just vinyl, I can do it for you. I wish I was in the Christmas mode and had some fun new projects up and ready for the season. Maybe I will get ambitious and find some fun new things. I will let you know how that goes:)

Thanks for all the 'friends' who have ordered from me. I love meeting new people that become friends as I fill orders for them and we become acquaintances.
As of recent I am no longer taking vinyl orders. I will pick back up in a few months time. Life has a way of making you pick priorities and this seems like one I will have to put on hold for now.

Food Storage Labels

If you need some really great labels to spice up your boring food storage containers....I have them! I know mine are boring old brown but they match other containers in my pantry and storage room. Pick a font and color and I can cut a line 22"long x1 1/2"high for $2.00. Most of my labels are 1 1/2 "x 6"(in the picture). Tell me all the labels you want and I can try to fit them into the line (reasonably of course:). It is also great that you can peel them off the bucket or container if you ever want to put something else in it.

Bags

This is one last thing we did for our Super Saturday. These cute bags. We called them scripture bags but they are a great size for anything and so easy. I ended up making one of my boys one for Christmas and he loves it. I used a different fabric for the handles instead of ribbon and it made it more...boyish, if you will:) We also added an iron on basketball instead of the flower. They are so easy to make out of a place mat you get at Wal-Mart for $2.00, I think. So many cute ideas and ways to personalize it. I have also seen them that they monogram it in the front using an iron on or maybe vinyl. Fun idea!!

Valentine's

Here are a few projects that I have done for Valentine's day.
These plaques are a great size. Not the 12x12 size I made last year but they are 8x8 and a cute 'something' for your valentine's decor. These are $8.00 completed $5.00 for just the vinyl.
I'm not sure which one I like more. I actually think I will do one in a lighter pink that would be my favorite. I love Valentine's day because of the colors. The one time of the year I can have pink in the house!This cute dishes were found at the dollar store and I put vinyl on them that says 'be mine' and filled it with candy. It was my VT treat for this month since we went so late. Love treats, love candy, love Valentine's day!!

Giveaway

Alright, I have been thinking about this for some time and and finally getting around to it. I am having a giveaway for my 50th post. I have people email me from all over the country wanting to order things. I'd like to get to know who you are that read my blog and where you are from. I will be having my giveaway until Monday night (2/1/2010) at 11:00pm. All you have to do leave a comment saying hi, put your name, where you are from and your favorite vinyl project (that you like from my blog, that you have done or that you would like to see me offer....maybe next time the giveaway will be whatever got the most votes).

Here is the giveaway. It is black wood with white vinyl and a fun font! The tallest letter is just under 5 inches tall and all the letters standing end to end are 20 inches long. They are all free standing letters that you can arrange to your liking.

Tiles

I have finally compiled all the quotes I have (as of 01/2010) for 12x12 tiles. I didn't know I had so many!! I went through and put them all in one place, changed a few I didn't like and tada....here they are. They aren't all my originals. Some people have called and asked them to look a certain way or use a certain font. This is everything I have ever printed for people. It's quite the list!
I know the tile thing has totally been over done, but it is a great way to get ideas for other things too.
Anyway, for future reference, here they are.

The prices for tile quotes are $5.00 (this is a big increase from before, I found they are twice as hard to do as the 12x12 tiles) and $8.00 for 12x12 (same price).

Picture Blocks

This is a project I got started on a little late this year. I neglected to find something for David's mom and dad. They told us a few years ago that they wanted us to make things instead of buying them. Some years I have no problem. This year I have to say I didn't really try I just kept putting it off. I have seen these cute blocks lots of times before and thought it would be a fun project. I got on the computer and ordered 12 pictures from Costco (love Costco, they were ready by the time I got there). I couldn't decide what to get the regular sized pictures or the wallet. The wallets didn't ever say a size. I ordered both and ended up using the wallets. What a steal if you were doing lots of sets of these. They were only .34 each set for 4. They are a little small for the 4x4x4 blocks but add a little paper and some vinyl and they look just right (or print off the size you need from your computer).

#1 cut the pictures (for the wallets you cut a little off the end to fit)

#2 Cut wood, sand and paint (might need a few coats) and sand again if desired (i forgot to)

#3 Mod podge pictures on wood. Only put mod podge on the wood and back of picture and let dry really well before doing anything else.
#4 Mod podge any paper or embellishments on and add vinyl sayings.
#5 Mod podge over the whole project and make sure each side dries really well before handling or putting down on a surface.#5 your project is done! (sorry forgot to take the after/finished pictures)
I only did 2 block but I really like the ones when people do 3 and stack them. I like odd numbers!
Fun, easy and very simple. Try it!

This cute saying is one of my favorites. I have noticed it all over the vinyl blog world for some time now and decided I would make one for my nephew and one for his companion for Christmas. I put them both in a box full of stuff and sent them off yesterday. Fun idea for all those great missionary mom's out there too.

Letters

These cute letters are made by my SIL. She has a blog called wonderfully worded that you can see some of her other words. She gave me these for helping her with vinyl the past month. How great for me!!! This is actually a new word her daughter came up with just for me, thanks KK:) I love them and you can special order them or find her at one of the many craft fairs around the area. Just contact her and I'm sure she will whip you up some letters you will love! They make great gifts.If you can't contact her contact me and I will pass on your interest.

Jackets

These are jackets that I made yesterday for my sons friends for Christmas. Yes the secrets out!! I can put vinyl (special vinyl) on clothing. I have been trying it out on different products but am pretty confident that I know how to do it now. I have had it for over a year and haven't been to sure of doing it. I think that it has been working out great the last few times and is looking great too!

It is really fun to personalize shirts, coats, sweatshirts...just anything! Anything that can be cut in vinyl can but cut and put on clothing (with heat).

These pictures aren't really very good. You can't see any of the detail. Anyway, it really was an inexpensive gift. The jackets were $10 each and I just added the vinyl.

Plates

The gorgeous red chargers you can find at Hobby Lobby. They have so many colors. They are fun for every holiday (and not very expensive). Put a little vinyl on it and you have a cute decoration. This is one that I did last year. I have done many sayings on these and also pictures. This is also the plates we used for the 'you are special' plate. Fun!!

This square one came from Target and is also a great decoration. Any saying and you have a great gift!!

Piggy Bank

Here is another idea for the glass blocks. I found mine at Lowe's in the Christmas stuff (about $9.50 each).As you can see it has a hole in the top (or bottom) and even had cover with a slot. Perfect for a piggy bank. (these are great for the lighted glass blocks with vinyl, if you have ever tired to cut the hole in the blocks yourself you will gladly pay the extra few dollars for a pre-cut hole!)

I just glued the cover on the hole (so they can't get the money out:).
This is what I decided to do for a few of my nephews birthday's and put a little money in it to start them off. I think next time I will make the vinyl smaller. The vinyl for glass blocks is $5.00 each.
The Santa cookie bucket never got done and when I get pictures of the reindeer and scripture bags I will post them....Emily:)

Super Saturday Ideas

Here are a few of the projects that we are doing for our Super Saturday. At least they are the ones that I am helping with.

For the Holiday blocks I found the idea here I thought they were such a cute, fun idea. You can paint them any color you want and leave them out year round. I would do vinyl for these blocks but not the wood (at least not until after Christmas). Really like she said on the blog I got the idea from, it is really a lot cheaper to go to a lumber yard or Home Depot and get them cut for you or cut them yourself and just buy a piece of 4x4 lumber. To have me send them isn't really worth it!
Here is what she said about the blocks:
These 7 wood blocks spell at least 16 different words (and you might be able to find more)that cover every season and almost every holiday.
Here are all the words they can spell:
Harvest-Welcome-Friends-Faith-Family-Spooky-Winter-Freedom-Blessed-Snow-Home-Hope-Monster-Mother-Dream-Easter

The price for the vinyl for this project is $10.00.

This is another cute idea found in the blog world of crafts. We are making 2 different ones. One for Christmas or one that is plain (or generic:). This one, obviously is used to countdown the days til Christmas. The other one has two sides. The bottom says 'simplify' on one side and you can use it for a calendar for everyday. The other side says 'countdown' and you can use it to countdown to a special event, like a vacation or something. All kids love countdowns and seeing how many days are left. You can use it as a calendar until some special event comes up then change it over for a countdown. This is another 4x4 wood project with a 2x4 on the bottom. The price for just the vinyl on this project is $5.00.

This is my sisters project that she is doing (or did) for her Super Saturday (or I think they called it Spiritual Saturday...) She did all the hard work and now I just have to make copies. Everyone loved these and all kids love to look at them. Whether it is to look at the pictures or to read the info on the back, all ages love them...my boys all keep looking through them. There are 3 sets, latter day Prophets, Apostles, and the articles of faith. If you want any of these, email me. I might be able to hook you up:)

This is the other project we are doing. It is a magnet board stand for pictures. We are making it and it includes 2 magnets. Any grandma would love this. It has lots of room for pictures to hang up. The metal is 15"x8" in size. A fun way to put up new pictures and be able to change them out. (we haven't got the magnets done yet!) For this completed project it is $9.00

Our other projects are a wood reindeer, a santa's cookie bucket, a scripture tote and maybe a nativity set. Hopefully I can get pictures of the other projects and can show off our other talented helper for Super Saturday. It is always a fun day that I enjoy helping with!

Pumpkins

This is not a project with vinyl but I guess you could actually put some on it. These were so fun and simple (and cute) I had to share.

The idea was found on a blog. So many fun crafty blogs out there! I did them at a friends house who was finishing a deck. How lucky was that, all the wood we wanted! We painted them up, roughed up the edges with my belt sander, hot glued a branch on, added ribbon and we had fun little pumpkins, all different sizes and colors. So much fun and I have never got so many comments that people liked them and thought they were so cute. A fun and simple idea for fall.

We used 2x4 and 2x6 scraps for the wood. Each of us that made them took 7 home. When I got home I scoured my house for more wood and made 10 more, I couldn't get enough.
What fun gifts to give, everyone loves them!!

Personalized Chair

It has been way too long since I put any new ideas up. I guess I have too much going on, although I am still getting lots of projects done and making lots of vinyl for other peoples projects.
This is something I thought would be a fun Christmas gift. I know that everyone has at least one of these chairs but to have it personalized and actually know which one is yours (everyone always seems to have the same ones) I thought was a fun idea. Although it isn't really vinyl on the final project, you do use vinyl to complete it. I used a cut out of vinyl with a last name. I actually weeded out the name, the part you usually use on things and kept it for another use. I used the vinyl that was left to put on the chair as my stencil. (you could actually make your own or buy some but this was sooo easy with the vinyl and it stuck on great!) Next get out your paint and paint away. It actually took a few coat of the white but it turned out pretty good (just don't look too close)! Next time I would press down the edges better and make sure there was better contact. The paint bled a little but just in spots where the vinyl wasn't pressed down enough. Fun idea and quick too!

Family Frames

I have seen this done many time with many fonts. It is not a new idea but a fun one (I made it over a year ago and am just getting around to putting it up). It defiantly makes your wall stand out. It would look much better on a great colored wall but I still haven't picked a color for this room. Any framse any fonts. Just don't ask me to get the frames on this one, I only do the vinyl.

More Square Wreath Boards

This is the board that I made for Tashie. An everyday board that you can put up when there aren't any holidays or you don't have a board for a holiday. She chose blue to go with her house colors so I thought I'd put 'let it snow on the back'. Another board to add to the list:) And if you want a name board you can choose what you want on the back or you can leave it blank (sometimes there just aren't colors that go with any holiday).

This is a name board that someone ordered. I hope she doesn't mind me posting it. Hopefully her sister doesn't look on my blog.
The idea actually came from my niece that she got or had made after she was married. I loved the way it looked. Sometimes you get in a rut and everyone does the same boards the same way...you know! Anyway I liked this one and thought I'd share. A great wedding gift. The board measures 36"x8".

She also ordered this stacker. Love the saying she picked and the colors. Too cute. Love stackers and that you can put any saying on them and do any occasion or everyday.

Spring/Easter Boards

I am finally posting again, yay!! Here are the boards for spring/Easter. They are $5 if you want to come and make them or $6 if I do them for you. We will be making them on Tuesday at 8:00pm at my house for anyone who is interested. I know it is late notice but just contact me if you want one and are coming (or if you want one and can't come). These are boards for the square wreaths. If anyone is still interested in getting one let me know and I will contact my supplier to see if they have restocked yet from Christmas.
I was also thinking of doing a board yellow with "Happy Birthday" or "Celebrate" with "back to school" on the back. Let me know what you think of the options and if there are any more board you can think of that you want and I can do them. We can always do a one sided board too, if you want one with your last name or welcome on it. Let me know. ( I had an idea to do one with welcome really big with 'to the Banks' (your last name) script smaller over the bottom. Let me know if anyone wants one of those or has an idea for one that is an all year one.)

I know I have already shown the picture of "Hoppy Easter", but just was making it easier to find. The 'think Spring' I made last night at about 11:00pm to bring to church today and I used just what I had for flowers. I am going to do more fun springy colors for them and lots of colors to choose from.

Family Home Evening Board

Since this is my most popular item that people contact me about and I sell, I thought I would post a little more about it. It can be changed to anyway you want it. In any color. This is one that I made recently. No one does exactly the same things for your FHE so make it custom to list everything you do. There are no limits to the number of items you list or names on the magnets.
My boys love to go get 'the board' each Monday night to see what everyone has.

Valentine Board

Yes I am still alive and finally getting to a new post! The New Year has come on slowly (to my liking:) and I am finally getting back into the vinyl mode!!
Here are the boards for February/Valentine's Day for your square wreaths. You choose pink with Easter or red with 4th of July (the 4th of July one I have already posted a picture of. Yes I am a slacker....this is the board I made to deliver to my VT ladies (I won't tell when:). This was one of my favorite talks from conference and I knew I wanted to make a quote board with this quote on it. Glass Blocks

I know everyone has probably done these blocks. We recently did these for our Super Saturday and they were a big hit! I love the nativity scene on it. Recipe Holder

This is a project that I did last year for a craft fair. I forgot about it until someone called to order these again. They are $7.00 each and it includes a magnet to hold your recipes. You can order any color and any saying. I had a lot of orders for "To teach is to touch a life forever"--as teacher gifts last year. You can also put "I am a child of God" on them for a cute baptism or child gift. They are cute 'frames' for displaying pictures or cards.

Not Taking Orders

Thanks for everyone who has ordered from me this year. It has been my best year yet (ok so I have only been doing this two years, but it was still better than last year:)!

Small Quote or Name Boards

These are the boards I made for the kids in my sons Primary class. They all turned 8 this year and this is what we made to give them at their baptism.

The other board is a cute addition to a basket or just as a small baby gift. The size is 3"x12" and I thought this one was a cute one for a new baby girl!

Chore Chart

As I told before with the FHE board my sister and I came up with the idea to make them and she found the picture she had of her chore chart. I love this one because you can totally personalize it to your family chores. You can put as many chores as you would like and have 2 magnets for each kid or just one and add mom and dad's name too. It is all made to your specifications. Love it!

I am trying to play catch up here on this blog too! This is a peg board I made for my niece for her birthday. It has here name and daughter of God through it. I also put pegs on the bottom to hang things (all girls need places to hang things, right!!) It turned out cute with a few butterflies and flowers on for extra color.

Fonts

I am in need of some help. I need to be able to put my fonts on somewhere that everyone can look at them. That is the hardest thing to pick and choose especially when you can't see the choices I have (and I hate to pick for other people!). If anyone knows how I can put a list somewhere on my blog let me know. Thanks!!

This is all I could figure out was to take a picture of the lists I have and post them as a picture. If you can't see them very good click on them here in this post. Hope this helps a little.

Christmas Plate

I have been busy making some more things for the 'Hen House'. It will be opening up again on Monday. This is a plate I found and thought it would be fun to put a Christmas saying on it. A fun gift idea and not too expensive either! The plate is around $4.00 and the vinyl is $7.00.

These are some great chargers!! I love the color and you can put any saying on them and have a great gift. I made these for friends and family last year with a great Christmas saying and ended up making about 25 of them. These are fun ones to make for special days. Show your family that they are special or have had a great accomplishment by using this plate at dinner. You put it under the persons plate that has had a special day or done something special. Make sure they know you care!!

Christmas Square Wreath

Family Name Tile

I love this tile. I have two weddings in the coming weeks and decided I would try something new. I like that the initial and name are both on it. Perfect for a wedding gift. Love it!
I put my vinyl on a 13" x 13" tile, I liked how it looked with more room around the edges and then the stand doesn't cover anything up. It will also work on a 12" x 12" tile. (Vinyl only $10.00) You could easily add the est. date on the bottom if you wanted.

Young Women's Board

I made this yesterday for a sweet young woman in our ward that just turned 12. She is such a sweetie and I thought she would like it with the YW words from the motto around it. Under her name it says daughter of God. Also a fun birthday idea!!
The board measures 8 1/2" x 10". Not all my crafts are originals but this one is. I love the way it turned out! (I also love the pink and black combo) This is $9.50 for the finished product ($6.00 for the vinyl)

Stackers

Here are the stackers we did last night. I know I was suppose to post them before, but I never got around to it. We had a great night. Thanks for everyone who came. We made a ton of stackers and had some great conversation and yummy drink (the cookies not so good).

The I am a Child of God stacker I made a while ago. I thought it was a cute one to do for a baptism or birthday. Lots of ideas you can do with stackers.

The Hen House

As I put on my blog, I have been making a some projects for a store in town called 'The Hen House'. It has lots of fun stuff and I have a couple of projects I did for it. Here are just a few-I love these boards for little kids rooms. 4"x24"or 36"

I love these long quote boards. You can pick any saying and have it done like this. This is one of my fav projects I did. The board is 7x19. Cute size to stand in a corner on a table or shelf. I can't take credit for this one. I found it here and didn't like the quotes, so I did my own. (just vinyl $9.00, with board $12.00)

This 'BE board' I made last year for Christmas presents and a few other gifts. I saw the original idea on Heather Whites blog. She has great ideas and is soooo creative. Love all her fun stuff. I also changed it a bit to suit my taste. This is a very popular item.

These 'holiday plaques' are a cute change for decorations. You can make one for every holiday or season. These can also be made front and back like the square wreath boards. One color 2 holidays. Cute on a front door or on a wreath stand. I found this idea on iasign.com. (just the vinyl $8.50, with board $12.00)
The BE board and holiday plaque are both 12"x12".

Sorry I don't have very many original ideas. I don't want anyone thinking that I am trying to steal ideas or take credit for things I haven't come up with (that is why you can click on the link to see the original idea or place it came from). I have asked permission for all but the holiday plaques, to use the same basic idea.

October Craft Night

Our next craft night will be on Thursday, October 9th at my house at 7pm-9pm. We will be making the fall stacker blocks. You can choose Fall/Thanksgiving or Halloween. They will be $8.00 each to make. That includes everything to finish. I also have just ordered a ton of new ribbon to use for the top--come check it out!!The other Fall/Thanksgiving one says Turkey-Harvest-Give Thanks.

(I will post a picture of the ones I am doing. They have a dowel through them with a wood topper on the top of it and ribbon tied around the dowel. I am waiting for the wood toppers I ordered so I will post a picture of the finished product when they come in and are done)

Craft Night

We will be having a craft night at my house on, Thursday, September 4, 2008. It will be from 7-9, please come when you can (I know everyone has lots going on, school has started!) The cost for the wreath and one board is $22 (the price of the wreaths have gone up). Just to make the board for the center is $5.00 (that includes lettering for both sides). Anyone, who hasn't already signed up or contacted me, leave a comment and let me know you will be coming and what you want to do. If you can't give me much notice I always have a few extra on hand. Here is what we will be doing on that night.One side is for Halloween and the other is for Thanksgiving. We will have a few different ribbons to choose from for the top. Have fun with it by adding more ribbon or berry vines.
A few people will be doing both boards we have done, the fall and the 4th of July. I will also have a Christmas saying for the back of the 4th of July if you are interested (it says 'Believe!')
I am trying to come up with ideas so we can get some Christmas done!! Let me know if there are ideas you would like to do or make. I will try!
There are also kits you can purchase to do your own craft nights with friend. I have them available for you to do yourself or I can come to your home (or you can do them at mine, just ask!). If you are out of town I can also send you the kits. The kits come with everything to complete the project (but paint if I am sending them to you). Contact me! Square Plate

You can find these square plates at just about any store. They come in lots of colors too. They are a fun change to tiles. Put them on a plate stand and it makes a great addition to you kitchen counter. Plates vary in sizes but this plate has an 8x8 opening for lettering, making the cost about $8.00.

I love this saying! I found it on Heather White's blog. She has come up with the saying and allowed me to use it. They make a nice gift for any occasion for the great women in your life! The size of the board is 8 1/2"x11". The cost is $8.00 for the completed board.(I really need to invest in some new ribbon!:)

Here is a Family Home Evening board that my sister and I came up with. We have seen many variations but we love metal so decided to do it this way with magnets. It is personalized with your family name at the top and names on each magnet. You choose the color of the board and vinyl colors to match. Each completed board is $23.00.(the vinyl only is $14.00)The dimensions for this board is 9"x20".
These also come in a chore charts and a message board. (picture to soon follow)

Square Wreaths

We made these wreaths a few Saturdays ago for enrichment. We had a lot of people comment on loving the square wreath. (They are cute!) The board in the middle can be changed out with each holiday or season. The wreath with one board, vinyl and ribbon is $23. Fun gift idea and you can make a new board for the middle for each holiday which are $4-$5 each depending on the vinyl and/or front and back (you paint the board one color and use front for one holiday and the back for a different holiday). Great for Christmas. The wreaths have to be ordered so if you are interested let me know a few weeks in advanced so I can get them.

TIME and FAMILY

Here are two projects I have done with frames. Both frames you can get at Wal-mart and the TIME frame is a17"x9" is just under $9. The FAMILY frame is about 14"x7" and is only $3. The
vinyl is around $7 for the big one and $4 for the small. Completed the TIME is $18 and FAMILY is $9. Both are great gifts, especially the TIME for a wedding gift. ( The photography isn't great, hopefully I'll get better.) I also make a WELCOME frame that is the same size as FAMILY. It says WELCOME and to our home over the top.

I have set up this blog so that I can post the pictures of all the things I make. My small home vinyl business is called Simple Sayings.
